Jalsa Berbice 2017

The 5th Regional Jalsa Salana Berbice was held on April 23, 2017 under the theme of “Vie with One Another in Good Works“.  Members and guests from Berbice as well as Georgetown and Linden attended this gathering.

The Jalsa commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an with translation by Ataa Ul Mujeeb Athar Khan.  This was followed by the presentation of the Promised Messiah’s Qaseeda by Wajihullah Mangat and Muhsin Nassir.

Keeping this convention’s theme in focus, speakers dealt with this topic based on the teachings from the Holy Qur’an and those taught by the Holy Prophet (saw), Promised Messiah (as), Musleh Maud (ra) and Khalifatul Masih – Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atbna).

The main speaker at this Jalsa was the regional missionary to Berbice, Maulana Abdur Rahman Khan.  He presented on Allah’s command on “Vie with one another in good works”.

Special guests were invited to give a few remarks after which, the floor was open to both members and guests to any ask questions pertaining to Islam.  Making use of this opportunity, a guest as well as a member from the Ladies section asked their respective questions.  These questions were answered by our learned Missionaries.

Heeding to the instructions of Khalifatul Masih, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atbna), in his recent Friday Sermon; the book “The Philosophy of Teachings of Islam” was presented to the special invitees.

The 5th Regional Jalsa Salana Berbice was concluded with a closing dua after which lunch was served to all attendees.  Thereafter, Salat Zuhr and Asr were combined at the New Amsterdam Centre.
