Jalsa Salana

Jalsa Salana is an Urdu / Farsi (Persian) conjugation which means, in English, an Annual Convention or Annual Gathering.

This noble institution was inaugurated by Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Al Qadiani (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) on December 27, 1891 in Qadian, Punjab, India.   Millions of Ahmadi Muslims, in no more than 210 countries, worldwide believe Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) to be the personification of the second coming of Jesus Christ (Peace and blessings of God be upon him).  The long awaited Messiah for Muslims and Christians, alike.

In 1891, on the day of inauguration of this auspicious event, seventy-five members attended.  Today, thousands upon thousands attend this auspicious event at its worldwide headquarters in London.  This even is headed by our spiritual Imam, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.

Yearly, following this auspicious custom, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Guyana holds both an annual and regional Jalsas at its respective regions.
