Promised Messiah Day in Berbice

In the history of Islam Ahmadiyya, May 23 signifies the initiation of this Jama’at.  It began in year 1889 when the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) took the first Bai’at of fourty faithful followers.

In Guyana, Ahmadiyyat started in a remote village called the Sisters Village.  It is found on the east bank of Berbice.  The first mosque was built here in the 1960s.

5th Regional Jalsa Salana Berbice

The 5th Regional Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Berbice will be held on April 23, 2017 at the Dave’s Reception Hall in New Amsterdam, Berbice.  All are invited!

In advance of a major international Peace Symposium being arranged by British Muslims, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Khalifa (Caliph), His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has strongly condemned the Westminster attack and offered his sympathies to all those affected.

Presentation of literature at the Indian High Commission

February 28, 2017, our missionaries visited the Indian High Commission of Guyana.

On this occasion, the books Life of Muhammad and World Crisis and Pathway to Peace were presented to the First Secretary to the Indian High Commission of Guyana, Mr Tashi Damdi Bhutia.

Promised Messiah Day

Across Guyana, the Promised Messiah Day or Masih Mau`ud (as) Day Jalsa will be held.  Renowned scholars will speak about life and character of the Promised Messiah (as).

The Masih Mau`ud (as) Day is celebrated by holding the Jalsa in regional centres and mosques across Guyana.

On March 23, 1889, the Promised Messiah (as) took the first initiation that resulted in foundation of Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.   Ahmadi Muslims around the world celebrate this day by holding Jalsa (meetings) to discuss the blessings of the advent of the Messiah and Mahdi.

Jalsa Masih Mau’ud will be held in each region on the following days:

    • Georgetown – March 04, 2017 at Baitul Noor
    • Berbice – March 23, 2017 at Sister’s Masjid
